The Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ

Many believers who profess and acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives cannot define the Gospel, bringing them to salvation. The Gospel explained and influenced their allegiance and subscription to be known as the follower of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the good news that Jesus Christ came while we were dead in sin (Romans 5:8), died for our sins as the true atonement, and rose again as a confirmation that he has conquered the death. With this, the son of Sovereign God triumphs over all principalities and dominions. All the authorities and powers that we sinners may be reconciled with our creator and have an eternal relationship. This alone gives good hope, everlasting joy because we shall not face condemnation.

The good news that we can now enjoy fellowship with our maker, the good news that God has given us satisfaction in Himself, the good news of our redemption, forgiveness, justification, and at the end of this mortal life, we shall have eternal life with our Sovereign God.

Why do we need the Gospel? Or instead, how often do we need it?

We need the Gospel every day, and everyone, whether born again or not, needs to hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 15:6: “If anyone does not abide in me, he’s thrown away like a branch and withers. Branches are gathered and thrown into the fire and burned.”

This means that if you think you can work your salvation on your strength, then you are not even saved to start with. The Bible says the work your salvation with fear and trembling because God works inside you. It's only by mercies and the grace of God that we are saved, and the best we can do is to seek Him always, desire to grow, and seek the knowledge and wisdom of God.

John 8:31: “If you abide, remain, in my word you are truly my disciples.”

By continuously studying the word of God, praying, and fellowshipping with brethren, we shall grow in the word of God, and our intimacy with God shall surely increase for his Glory.
