It Will Grow Again - Judges 16:25-28
The story of Samson and Delilah: Samson was a strong man and fought the Philistines successfully. He fell in love with Delilah, a Philistine, giving his enemies a chance to get back at him. Many times we blame Samson but we fail to understand that he loved Delilah; he did everything for love. Delilah nagged him in an attempt to identify his source of power. Eventually, Samson gave in and revealed that by cutting his hair he'll be rendered weak. He was captured, tortured and forced to entertain the Philistines. However, in his final showdown, Samson prayed to God for strength which he used to push the pillars and died with more Philistines than he ever did before. His hair had begun to grow.
We learn a number of lessons from this story. Delilah's mission was to identify Samson's source of power and get rid of it. In the same way, the devil's mission is to find the good thing God has planted in you then uproot it. God had planted the strength in Samson. The same God has also planted something in you. There is a talent, a gift, that you possess and the devil is actively working to uproot it. Do not give him a chance.
When Samson was being tortured and used as an instrument of entertainment by the enemy, he prayed to God for strength to fight back. When the devil uproots something in you; when you do something that you know is not acceptable; when you backslide; do not stay there. Do not give up on God and life. Stand up and pray for strength to carry on with your life as per God's plan over your life. And always pray.
Samson's hairs began to grow back. Whatever the devil has uprooted in your life will grow again. Whatever the devil has taken from you will be restored. The plans of God in your life will carry on, regardless of the devil's efforts. God always loves you. Call on him every day and He will hear and answer you. Always keep in mind that His plans for you will always succeed. So, May your 'hairs' grow back in Jesus' name!
Store Your Treasures in Heaven - Matthew 6:19-21
Treasures stored on Earth suffer the risk of theft and destruction by moths and rust. The Earth is, therefore, not a safe place to store your treasures. However, treasures stored in Heaven are safe from all dangers. It is important to seek the Kingdom of God first and aspire to live a godly life. Excessive focus on Earthly things will do us no good because we shall leave everything behind. Build your relationship with God. Your heart resides where your treasures are. Your heart should be focused on Heaven.
